Hotel Eleuthera (ARC) was graciously provided to me by the author, Lila M. Laws, for an honest review.Sex Fantasies. These two sizzling words have many different interpretations. I have read many books of the fantasy/bdsm nature, and, have thoroughly enjoyed reading every one of them. That being said, this one is different. This book is about deception, dishonesty, and the need for true growth. That's very different from other types of fantasy-ridden books. For these reasons, I feel that it was difficult to enjoy the overall purpose of this book.
Hotel Eleuthera, by Lila M. Laws, is an erotic story with an overall premise of healing, through growth and normalcy. Healing, in general, is not an easy feat, especially when trying to rise above from one's difficult past; a past filled with bullying, loss, sex, selfishness, thoughtlessness, and drugs. These are challenging to deal with as well as read about, and for this reason, it was also difficult to warm up to the female main character, Scarlet (Sarah) Saunders.
Scarlet Saunders has had a rough life. There's no denying that. She has tried to survive to the best of her abilities. Unfortunately, through the making of bad decisions, she's been in a downward spiral that she can't seem to clearly get herself out of completely. There have been very few books that have made me want to politely yell at one of the main characters. This is a new one. I will admit, Scarlet made me both proud of her infrequent growth, and, annoyed me immensely as well. She is one of those characters who, unfortunately, has learned, and quite possibly will continue to learn, that there are consequences to one's decisions and actions.
While I have always..enjoyed..reading about various sexual fantasies, this book seemed to contain one continuous sex scene, regardless of the existence of different characters. Speaking of different characters, I loved the male characters, especially the male main character, Ben Oliver. Doesn't he have an adorable and yummy name? I loved everything about Ben Oliver! I found myself cheering for him. I really did, even late into the night, and, felt that he deserved someone who was true to herself, and to others, and especially to him. Even though there is a lot of sex in this story, I feel that the overall plot should have been more of a focus rather than a revolving door of sex scenes, despite it being what the title of the book would insinuate.
This books has great potential. I feel that it really does. However, it was all over the place with it's development, it's character POV, as well as it's organization. It also needs one more edit run through because there are spelling and grammar inconsistencies. As Hotel Eleuthera takes place in London, the sporadic use of British terminology doesn't really take away from the overall comprehension of the story.
So, get a nice glass of white wine, or a cup of coffee, hold on to your undies, because you are in for a hot and wild ride, a ride where no one is safe from the sizzling effects of this particular hotel. Are you..ready?

Hotel Eleuthera The Scarlett Series Volume 1 Lila M Laws Books Reviews
I don’t usually read this type of book, but from the title, to the opening page, I was intrigued; I was drawn in.
It wasn't what I expected at all. I expected sex surrounded by shallow storylines and shallower characters (with no offence meant to writers of this genre, but those are the expectation) but this book was more than that! The characters, especially Scarlett and Ben, were well-rounded and developed, and beyond the sex, which was inevitable there, was a tension and an intrigue.
The action scenes are well written and fast-paced. The dialogue is tight and to the point. The plot, perhaps the most important factor, builds nicely towards a memorable conclusion.
If you're a fan of this genre, then this book is worth checking out.
I loved this book! A delicious night time read, I'm intrigued to see what happens to Scarlett next!
A brothel owner and a cop; what could possibly go wrong?
There's pleny of ups and downs in this book (pun totally intended!).
Seriously though, there's a whole heap of emotions.
This book contains plenty of sizzling sex scenes; some paid for, some not.
Scarlett has to face what she will risk in the name of real love.
Romance, sex, deception, betrayal, bereavement; it's all in here.
Warning book 2 is not out yet.
I found the concept of the story really good. I was eager to get to the end to find out what happened. It also made me wonder how many of these hotels are really out there. I quite liked the banter between Scarlett and Jamie especially with regards 'Will's audition'. But the relationship between Ben and Scarlett was sincere. I particularly liked Ben. He has depth to his character and the most interesting. I thought the writing was good and the story flowed well. Overall a good read and look forward to seeing more from this author.
The storyline is awesome with fantastic characters.
