Ester Ried's Namesake A Christian Fiction by Pansy Wonderful Tale of Love, Friendship, God As Esther exchanged her street dress for one that did duty in the kitchen there was a cloud on her face; she could not get away from the contrasts. The girls were at home by this time; they had a suite of rooms in one of the most expensive boarding-houses in the city. When Esther felt especially lugubrious, she dwelt on the fact that these rooms were luxuriously furnished and included even a private bath. It was sometimes difficult not to contrast them with the very straitened quarters and meagre accommodations for which she gave daily ser¬vice. When she was gay, she seized her broken¬nosed pitcher, and as she dashed down two flights of stairs to the kitchen hydrant to fill it, told herself that she was going to her private bath! But when she was not gay, she hated even these trivial evidences of her cramped life, and could not help telling herself that the good things of this world were very unevenly divided.

While this book is on par with Grace Livingston Hill 's book, I am deeply disappointed that another author's first chapter was included at the end. The first line stated "do you think if me when having sex with him". I have read over 25 GLH books and this was my first Pansy book. I read these for a reason; they are good, clean, and Christian books not partly Christian and partly filth. Shame on the publisher, Shame on you.Product details

Ester Ried Namesake Isabella Macdonald Alden Book Volume 1 Pansy 9781629430188 Books Reviews
Book is excellent. I have deleted it, however, because I would be horrified to have anyone find included preview on my device. Very disappointed that one would link that book with this.
I did not purchase this book from having been forewarned by another reviewer about the objectionable material tacked onto the end of the book. I have gotten other books from with the same stuff at the end and was determined not to do it again. I ended up downloading it for free from archive.org. The PDF file I downloaded also contains 4 beautiful period illustrations, but it has fine print making it a little difficult, but not impossible, to read on the Fire. I also downloaded the kindle version which is a little easier to read but not much because it has a lot of typos. This scanned document is unedited at his point. But I made it through it and am glad I did because it is the last book in an excellent series. The story is about a missionary's daughter (named after Ester Ried) and her struggles with holding on to her Christian principles while attending a secular college, not unlike the struggles that Christian college kids face today. She also struggled with her own legalistic attitude which some simple country folk helped her to conquer. The story seemed very realistic and can be compared to the struggles Christian's experience in our current environment. So if you really want to read the last book in this beautiful series, I would recommend trying the free archive.org downloads first, but if that doesn't work for you, you may have to break down and get it from .
Many life lessons in the story lines of this series. I can't say how much I truly enjoyed the time I have spent in these pages that will affect people for eternity. Don't hesitate to read any and all of IMA's books...for me the were addictive and heartwarming as well as heart rendering.
