Personally, I love this series by Bill Myers. I've read all of his books to date, and find them light hearted, entertaining, and appreciate his growing style. He is a highly intelligent individual. I subscribe to his private membership site, and feel it's worth triple what I pay for my subscription. This i NOT a sales pitch for Bill, since I've never met him. But I simply want to state, a couple of reviewers expected it to read like 'War and Peace." It's not meant to be that complex of a story. It's written as a fun read, not overly laborious. This work isn't designed to be a work of intellectual art. If that's what your seeking, you may do better reading some college textbooks:>)Mango Bob (the cat), and Walker (books principle character) really grow on you, and almost become family as you follow them along on their adventures. I like the fact that their adventures aren't outlandish, highly unreal, or exaggerated, but realistic in the real world. The humor is Arapahoes, and fits the dialog, scenes, and theme of all his books. He maintains theme continuity throughout his works, keeping his characters real. In conclusion, all I have to say is "Murrrrrrrr!"

Mango Key A Mango Bob Adventure edition by Bill H Myers Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Enjoyable story, needs better editing. Too many missing words in sentences. Didn't affect the story Some interesting Key West characters, with a little intrigue thrown in. Liked the use of the motorhome, and the hotdog cart as a central character. Not sure about the cat Mango Bob. Looking forward to reading other stories.
haveing lived in florida and driving big trucks, I used to use the back roads to dodge state scales and toll booths. I drove across alligator alley several times. this book was well researched and documented. the only reference missing was the fact that they grow a special lime calling them key limes and are the basis for key lime pie and just about every local restrurant serves key lime pie. story moved smooth and believable. I didnt figure out the ending but only have one question.....what would happen if Kat got mad?
Another fun Mango Bob story (although I week like it should be the “Walker Series”)! If you’ve read the other books in the series before then you know what to expect. Someone needs some help and Walker is roped in to it leading him and his motorhome on an adventure. This book being in Key West gave me the bug to go back and visit! I can’t wait to read about Walker’s next adventure!
I've read all of the Mango series up to and including Mango Key. I personally like reading these kinds of stories....tropical settings, colorful characters, a hint of romance & intrigue, etc. and I find all of this in these books....plus Walker drives a Jeep! But as mentioned in some other reviews the writing and character development has not really taken a step forward. I would not call it "uninspired" as others have, but just that the story telling has taken a small step back as the series has progressed.
I don't see a need to be overly critical here, because I do enjoy the series, it's a bit of an escape for me and I will stick with it....but is Walker ever going to get, or at least go after "the girl"?
I enjoy reading about Florida as I visit there quit often. While I have never been to the Keys it sounds like a fun place to go. Myers does a good job in talking about the Keys , what to expect there, and the type of people who live there. He adds a great deal of humor and suspense in his stories. I enjoy reading his books.
I really enjoyed this story. The short chapters made it easy to keep reading "just one more chapter", and before I knew it I was almost finished. Good story line, excellent local color. Mango Bob had a smaller role in this story, but his personality still came through. I really like the way the author created a book that works whether or not you read any of the earlier books in the series, while still making it a great, logical sequel to the previous books. Walker (the protagonist) is a good guy you can really relate to, a renaissance man who can trouble-shoot a computer network, handle a bad guy with his bare hands, and maneuver a motor home on a muddy road. I want to read more, and I want to see him get the girl!
I loved, loved, love this book. Any story with a cat is for me. This was my (free) introduction to the Mango series and I will be back for more, even if I have to pay for it! The cat bits were oh so true; I have a couple of intuitive "smarties." Kat will be in her element throughout her life; there are many men who prefer bitches. And Lori is right up there. Walker needs to meet up with a nice woman who would love not only him, but RV-ing too. (Can't forget Bob, but I imagine he would make life miserable for a non-cat person.)
I read several reviews that mentioned poor editing. I must add my name to the list. Mr. Myers, I will do it for free, and the book will be perfect. The one mistake that really grabbed me was when Walker's Caller ID said "Joy," when it was Lori Joy calling.
Mr. Myers, I am now a fan and look forward to more travels with Walker and Bob. Keep writing!
