I've had many love affairs in my time. As a goddess of love, it's not my way to stay chaste. There was Hephaestus, my husband. A dear man, one who may even have loved me, but not an incredibly exciting sort. There was Ares, the affair of mine the world speaks of the most. A bold, strapping man. Certainly interesting, but I doubt he ever loved anything but himself. There were the mortals, endless and fleeting, but gloriously bright in the moments of life they had. The nymphs, ever so deferential and sweet. And then there was her.
Does it surprise you that one of my lovers was a woman? I am the goddess of all love, not just some. Sappho wrote of me because she had been with me. But this is not the story of Aphrodite and Sappho. This is the story of the Goddess of Love and the Goddess of the Hunt.

This is a fun story, although for some reason silly old me didn't realize a great portion of the plot would be about the heroine and her husband/marriage. Perhaps the fact it's listed as a lesbian fiction had something to do with that. The outcome was satisfying. The editing, or should I say lack-thereof, left a lot to be desired for.
Would I read more by this author? Probably.

Olympic Hearts a tale of two goddesses edition by Madeline Kelly Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is a total twisting of the Aphrodite story. In the myths she came to love her husband who was a cripple because she was the goddess of love. No myths tell of her taking women to love. The story is told like it was our society and not the Greek one. The Greek gods never allowed divorce. Homosexuality was allowed but marriage was considered sacred and for eternity. Aphrodite in this story comes across as a whiny diva. She was so much more. Athena represented virgin purity and never slept with anyone. No Greek god ever had a homosexual affair.
I really love this book! I love finding good lesbian books because they're pretty hard to come by. The book is pretty short, I finished it in about an hour. I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.
I really liked the combining of wlw and Greek Mythology. It was very fresh imagining of a love of Aphrodite. Many different elements of angst and romance were used in this novel to tell the story of falling in love.
I felt like some of the scenes could have had more descriptions. But the use of visual imagery was nice.
Great romance story. Easy to pick up and just enjoy the read. The writer is new, and I must say I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised, I will be looking for more by Madeline Kelly. It is always a great day when you find a good W/W romance writer.
If you're looking for some witty, sweet, and generally HAPPY wlw storytelling, look no further! Surround yourself in the world of Greek Mythology in this fast paced, well-writen short story about two Greek goddesses who find love in each other no matter what the world throws at them.
A beautiful reimagining of mythology. I'm no mythology expert so I'm not sure if these two goddesses ever tangled, but that doesn't matter because it was a great story. It's so hard to find good wlw stories, especially historical or mythological ones, so this was a treat. I also really liked the ending.
I'm always down for sassy Greek goddess lesbians and this book definitely filled that quota, sweet and not entirely innocent, I love this and would love to see more of Artemis and Aphrodite
This is a fun story, although for some reason silly old me didn't realize a great portion of the plot would be about the heroine and her husband/marriage. Perhaps the fact it's listed as a lesbian fiction had something to do with that.
